The survey data came out as I expected. The data is made up of 100 9th Grade Students from Decatur High School. Except for one simple question which was have you ever been abused? I had actually expected that more people had been abused. 37% had been abused in some form while 63% have never been abused in their lives.
Out of the 37% of people that had been abused 17% of the people actually do trust people easily after their abuse. 53% of them take a while to get to know people first before opening up. The last 29% of the people just keep to themselves and don't really open up to people.
The last thing I had wanted to know how long did it take them to tell people about their abuse. 9% of these people told people right away. 19% of the people took a few months to tell people about the abuse. 19% took only a few days to tell people. 16% took under five years but over a few months to tell people about it. While a whole 35% took over five years to tell someone.
